A really really good day

Yesterday was awesome. Max came home on a day pass, and it was wonderful. For the first time in a long time, I honestly feel hopeful, really hopeful, that he will indeed beat this thing and move forward and stay clean. He's been talking the talk, but yesterday I saw *good* behavior, the promise of what is, hopefully, to come. And it was so good; I feel so much relief.

On Tuesday, Max passed his GED test. He's very proud; I'm very proud. He's looking into starting at the local community college this fall, before he's even 17. He's got a future now. :-)

I am so proud of BOTH of my kids, and I love them very very much. Two very different people, with so much in common. I am so very lucky.
